Bitmoji classroom is a great online tool and resource that teachers have been beginning to use for their online teaching. Teachers get to decorate and personalize their own Bitmoji classrooms for their students to explore and learn from different linked resources. In an age of online learning, it is fun for students and teachers to have a “classroom” experience without being able to be in a classroom in person.

I have begun to use Bitmoji classroom myself. I love how bright and colorful it can be. That makes it exciting and captivating for your students as they learn. I also love the ability to easily personalize and make it your own. It has been so much fun for me to design different rooms for my class! Here is an example of a room in my class that I love:

The downside of bitmoji classroom has to be how time consuming it is for you as a teacher. It is easy to get caught in designing your rooms for hours at a time, taking your attention away from focusing on other beneficial things you could be doing for your students. But if used responsibly, it is a great tool for making online learning exciting! Once my classroom is completed I will link it in my blog site.

The Multimedia Principle is making a presentation that uses words and graphics to teach (such as our Bitmoji classrooms or presentation slides). We want to include words and graphics in our presentations because it promotes deeper learning. Our brain receives information in two channels: visual (printed words or pictures) and auditory (spoken words). Each channel has a limited amount of processing capacity at one time. The learners combine the visual and auditory information presented to form connections that promote deeper learning. By using visuals and audio in our presentations for our students, we can help them make deeper connections that they will remember.
