Technology has taken a major role throughout my life growing up.
When I was much younger, my parents heard about a brand new piano program that was currently being developed and they needed volunteer students to to try it out for the first time and give feedback. The program consisted of piano lessons that were taught completely online! I used a laptop and a piano keyboard as the computer program taught me.

I already had prior musical experience with real teachers face to face, but with this program there was no real person teaching me. It was one of my most challenging experiences as a young kid!
After a few years and hours upon hours of practice, I was the very first student to "graduate" from the new program. My feedback and experience with the program helped the developers improve their technology and I was shocked at how much I learned from a computer! I still remember and actively use almost all of the skills I learned from the program.
Maybe this was the start to my experience of online learning for the rest of my life. Little did I know, I would be doing online school often throughout High School and now even my college experience consists of mostly online classes.
...
In my EDU 305 class I hope that I can develop even more skills in technology. I am living proof that learning through technology is possible, and there are so many others who have similar experiences.
As the world continues to change and advance, we have the opportunity to use those advancements in the classroom. I am excited to learn how to improve teaching practices and make learning exciting for students by using technological features made available for teachers and everyone.
I want the students that I teach in the future to have similar but even better experiences with technology in the classroom!
